Casey Cagle, the leading Republican for Governor, today announced the public endorsement of U.S. Congressman Lynn Westmoreland. Westmoreland served in the United States House of Representatives from 2005 to 2017.
“I am humbled to have Lynn’s support,” Cagle said. “His service to our communities, state, and nation has been distinguished and impactful. Lynn is a strong conservative who doesn’t waver on his values, and I look forward to continuing to lead together on issues important to Georgia.”
“During my time representing Georgia’s third district in the U.S. House of Representatives, I came to know and respect Casey Cagle,” Westmoreland said. “We’ve both been committed to leading on matters important to the citizens of our state, and I applaud Casey’s leadership on education, workforce development, and protecting our conservative principles. We know Casey earned the endorsement of the NRA, led the fight to outlaw and defund sanctuary cities, and protected innocent life — but I’m most proud of his families’ Christian values that guide his every decision. Because I believe he will continue to advance our community – and our state – so that all Georgians have greater opportunities, I am proud to publicly announce my support of Casey Cagle.”
Congressman Westmoreland’s endorsement adds to Cagle’s growing momentum and support from Georgia’s strongest leaders.
Cagle has earned endorsements from the NRA, Marietta Daily Journal, Educators First, 100-plus Sheriffs across the state, and he’s also earned the support of the Georgia Realtors.
Cagle has pledged to continue cutting taxes for hard-working Georgians, deliver a comprehensive 10-year infrastructure plan, and create 500,000 new jobs in the first four years of his administration. He has also made workforce development a top priority.
