Casey Cagle, the leading conservative Republican for governor, today announced that Steve Forbes has endorsed his campaign. The iconic business executive and former Republican candidate for President has thrown his support behind Cagle and will be making a trip to Georgia to stump for his campaign and host an open round table with Georgia business leaders.
“Casey Cagle is absolutely the man to keep Georgia’s economy humming,” Forbes said. “He’s an accomplished, conservative businessman who understands economic development. I am confident that he’ll lead Georgia to grow by 500,000 jobs in 4 years and continue to cut taxes following the $5.7 billion income tax cut this year. That’s why I’m excited to join him in Georgia on June 25.”
“I’m excited to have Steve’s endorsement,” Cagle said. “To have a nationally-renowned economic leader endorse your conservative record and bold vision for our state’s future is truly humbling. I look forward to having Steve back in the number one state for business.”
Cagle’s campaign continues to gain momentum after a commanding victory in the GOP primary in which Cagle won 123 out of 159 counties. He has been endorsed by over 100 sheriffs, the National Rifle Association, Educators First, the Marietta Daily Journal, and earned the support of the Georgia Realtors.
Cagle has pledged to continue cutting taxes, deliver a comprehensive 10-year infrastructure plan, and create 500,000 new jobs in the first four years of his administration. He has also made workforce development a top priority and will continue to lead on developing a world-class education system in Georgia.
