The race to replace Georgia’s Governor Deal heated up this morning as voters across the state awoke to the first released poll of the campaign.
Republican Lt. Governor Casey Cagle leads the pack with an astounding 41 percent of likely primary voters, while his next closes competition remains at just 12 percent.
While holding a greater than three to one lead over his nearest opponent, polling also found that Cagle’s approval rating far exceeds those of any other candidate for Governor.
With just more than 7 months until the Republican Primary Election, Cagle holds a nearly six to one net positive opinion rating and is the only Republican in the field who is viewed favorably by a majority of Republican primary voters.
