AJC: New faces, new outcomes in 2010 legislative session

The meetings might not sound unusual. In Georgia, they are. And many of those involved say the relationship between Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle — and the fact that both worked well with Gov. Sonny Perdue — is directly responsible for the General Assembly passing landmark bills on transportation, property taxes and trauma care before the gavels fell at midnight Thursday to signal the Legislature’s final adjournment for 2010.
